Emma & Neil’s Wedding Slideshow
Lavenham Village Hall, Suffolk – Claire and Richard
Have a look at a recent wedding I shot in Lavenham, a beautiful Village in Suffolk. The wedding reception itself was in the village hall, but driving through Lavenham it struck me how beautiful the village was – straight out of a Period Drama… The only problem was that the roads were flanked on both sides with parked cars….what a shame. If I was the mayor of Lavenham I would organise a large car park just outof the village and let people enjoy the beauty of the village without all the cars.. It is surrounded by fields and fields so space is not a problem… Photos would have been great having my couple walking on the roads with stunning old buildings in the background, but alas we could no do this due to the cars parked everywhere and double parked in some places…
Claire & Richard are a lovely couple – so friendly and nice, very easy to work with and I think this was probably helped in part by the pre-wedding shoot a few weeks ago, we all feel more relaxed and the wedding photos flow that much easier. The wedding itself was in a modern church, and the Reception in a village hall so we decided to stop between venues in a local park. I think the photos have come out very well and it was a pleasure to spend time with Richard and Claire on their wedding day! have a look at my favourite photos from the day or if you can’t wait click here to see the whole album..Enjoy!
Anstey Hall, Cambridge – Giles & Charlotte’s Wedding
What a hidden gem! Anstey Hall – I must have driven past it a hundred times, but just slightly off the beaten track is a little gem of a wedding venue! A real home from home… Its rustic charm is perfect in its surroundings there in Trumpington…. The perfect venue for a wedding in Cambridge, have a look at their website here
It was funny, the day I met Charlotte & Giles at Anstey Hall to have a look around, the heavens opened and it was tipping it down… It was still an amazing venue but we did have a little giggle hoping it wouldn’t be like this on their wedding day and the weather couldn’t have been better! – if anything it was a little hot and a little ‘too’ sunny – is that possible??? – but for a photographer weather turns into an obsession…being too sunny is sometimes worse than rain!…its hard to believe I know!…this was not the case at Anstey Hall because there were so many amazing places to take photographs and I had such a beautiful couple to work with that the photos are as beautiful as the venue! Have a look at my favourite photos below, but if you want to see the whole album click here….
Kenwood House, London – Steven & Nicola
A couple of weeks ago I shot a wedding in London. The ceremony was at one of the most beautiful Churches I have ever been to! and the Reception was at the prestigious Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath. The couple and all the guests look like they were having an amazing time. We were so lucky with the weather as it stayed dry for the photos and then bucketed down! – thats the way I like it
This summer has been challenging weather-wise but the challenge with this wedding was not the wedding but the General Public! Kenwood House is an English Heritage property and is open to the public…. I have done quite a few places like this – Pembrooke Lodge in Richmond Park springs to mind, but usually people are very respectful and don’t get in the way. I thought with the weather being ‘changable’ it wouldn’t be too busy but boy was I wrong!

Pre-wedding shoot in Lavenham, Suffolk – Claire-Louise & Richard
Its been a mad few weeks… This year August and Septemeber have been my busiest months. The weather has been …Interesting and challenging but every wedding throws me challenges and surprises – thats what is great about being a wedding photographer…every day I ‘go to work’ is totally different. This day I met up with Claire- Louise and Richard. We had a look around their reception venue and had a chat about the big day- which is fast approaching! – next weekend in fact! Here are my favourite Pre-wedding shoot photos and click here to see the whole album! See you both at the weekend!
Sarah & Michael – St John’s College, Cambridge
A couple of weeks ago I shot Sarah & Michael’s wedding at St John’s College in Cambridge. Lovely and local for me and such a beautiful venue. Its funny you can walk around Cambridge and be totally unaware of such beautiful College gardens hiden behind beautiful buildings…being a Wedding Photographer you get to see a lot of beautiful places, its quite an honour. Sarah & Michael’s wedding was just one of these days. Michael had attended St John’s College a few years earlier and so is lucky enough to be able to use the Chapel and the grounds for his wedding. I’m not sure I would want to use any of my University grounds – trust me I didn’t go to Cambridge! Mike talks fondly of his time at St John’s and so it very fitting that the couple chose the college as a backdrop…and what a backdrop it was! Take a look at my favourite photos…. Michaela & Lee’s Wedding, Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire
I’ve had a really hard time with my website overthe last 3 weeks. Without boring you all stupid my website wasn’t allowing me to upload any images…being a Wedding Photographer – I’m sure you will agree that this is the worst thing that can happen! I totally believe that my website is my shop front and if your shop front doesn’t look great people will not spend long looking at your site – simple as that. By the beauty of technology, my website is now fixed! and so I have a 3 week backlog of uploading…I’ve been itching to blog about all my recent weddings and has really depressed that I wasn’t able to, but now that I can ….I am over the moon. I will also be updating my slideshow over the next few days so keep a look out!
Right so a couple of weeks ago I shot Michaela & Lee’s wedding. You may remember I blogged their pre-wedding shoot a few months ago and at last the wedding day arrived.. Michaela was a stunning Bride and Lee was a dashing Groom… He was proud as punch to be marrying Michaela and embarking on their married lives together..take a look at some of my favourite photos of their wedding…. Andrew & Natalie’s Wedding
A couple of weeks ago I was again lucky enough to shoot a wedding of someone I know. Not only know but am related to… Andrew is my Husband’s Brother and Natalie is my new sister-in-law. Often shooting a relative or friend’s wedding comes with added pressure, but I didn’t feel this way at all. It was lovely to be involved and see Natalie getting ready which, had I not had been her photographer I would have missed. It was a lovely day and the Venue was perfect. Old friends, good wine and a Party!
The day came a couple of weeks ago that a very good friend of mine got hitched! I used to work for the BBC at Television Centre and there isn’t a good memory of that place that doesn’t include Lindsey Pawson… Over the years we have moved in our separate directions – I have had a family and moved to Cambridge, she moved to Dubai and met Olly. Lindsey is a truly lovely person, and used to tell us loads of funny stories about her friends and family – on this day – her wedding day I got to meet all these characters I had heard about in the flesh, and its great to put faces to names! It is a great testament to Lindsey that she had friends travel from all over the world for her wedding and I was excited to see her on her special day – one she had been planning since the day she was born…

We used to laugh a lot at work all those years ago, and I was lucky enough to see a few familiar faces at the wedding – the girls we used to hang out with at work all those years ago – is it ten years ago?? We were all there to see Lindsey and to meet Olly – a very lucky man!

I met Olly for the first time in the Saracen’s Head Pub opposite St Mary’s Church in Beaconsfield. he looked so smart and
handsome – and not at all nervous. I dragged him and the lads outside the pub for a fun photo – the lads having a drink for dutch courage before the serious stuff began!!
It was a beautiful day, very sunny and very hot. Monkey Island in Berkshire is a perfect venue – everything you could ask for – as a photographer – water , a bridge, a jetty, beautiful grounds…what more could you ask for!!
